My role with Zenchai has revolved around building and nurturing the brand's visual identity from the ground up. From the early stages of their journey in 2022, I've had the privilege of developing all aspects of Zenchai's visual presence. From idea, to launch, to daily operation, I've been responsible for crafting the visual identity, promotional materials, 3D visualisations, and providing insights to address challenges along the way.
Zenchai began as a student enterprise, with two young founders launching bubble tea onto their universities' campus. In the early stages I supported them in building a recognisable identity, and offering insights and advice to help them make the most of their limited budget. Two years later the brand was thriving and in the process of expanding, which led to a shift in their target market and the way they wish to be perceived.
In 2023 plans for expansion were underway and I designed several 3D interior concepts to assist their visualisation of their new location. In early 2024 I brought a complete brand refresh together to reflect the shift in their identity towards traditional authenticity and to create a truly premium experience. Their new direction has also led to an adjustment of their menu to include soufflé pancakes and unique speciality drinks which required new packaging, labels, menus, and custom assets.
Designing for Zenchai has involved creating an elegant balance between sophistication and youthful vibrancy in each design element. This journey towards brand recognition has been a collaborative effort, with the focus on creating visuals that resonate with their audience and capture the essence of their brand.
